Junk Removal Driver / Crew Member

$23/hour base pay + customer tips | Training provided

TrashThat is looking for a dependable, friendly team member who enjoys active work, works safely and takes pride in doing a valuable job.

Previous junk-removal experience is an asset, not a requirement. Experience in moving, delivery, warehousing, landscaping or construction is also welcome.

The role

You’ll work as part of a two-person crew, helping customers clear unwanted items from their homes and businesses. We provide training in our equipment, safe working methods and truck operations.

Both drivers and non-driving crew members are welcome to apply. Driving is not required for the crew position. Driving duties may be offered based on your licence, driving history, insurance eligibility and demonstrated ability to operate the truck safely.

What you’ll do

- Help prepare the truck, tools and protective equipment.
- Remove furniture, appliances and other unwanted items from homes and businesses.
- Protect customers’ floors, walls and belongings.
- Use dollies, equipment and team assistance to move heavy or awkward items safely.
- Load and secure materials while following truck weight limits.
- Sort items for recycling, donation and disposal.
- Report hazards and restricted materials to dispatch for guidance.
- Help keep the truck, equipment and job sites clean and organized.
- Be friendly and respectful with customers and teammates.

- Ability to reach our Port Moody truck base when scheduled.

Pay and training
- Guaranteed base pay of $23 per hour worked.
- Customer tips are additional and variable; they are not guaranteed.
- Paid company orientation, on-the-job training and truck training.
- Opportunities to take on more responsibility as the business grows.

First aid certification and support A valid WorkSafeBC-recognized Basic First Aid certificate is required before employment begins. Already certified? You can meet this requirement by providing your valid certificate. If you need certification, TrashThat will arrange and cover the full one-day course fee. Attendance at this pre-employment certification course is unpaid. Recruits who successfully complete the company-arranged course can also qualify for a $184 bonus after three months of employment, equivalent to eight hours of starting base pay. Written eligibility terms will be provided before you accept an employment offer.

Location and schedule

This is mobile work across Metro Vancouver. The truck is based in Port Moody, and reporting there may be required depending on the schedule.

Hours and start times depend on customer bookings. We will discuss expected hours, availability and the starting schedule before hiring.
