Part-time Justice Navigator - Sudbury

PT Contract / 21 hours per week / Pay range $25,000 - $27,000

POSITION TITLE: Justice Navigator

PROGRAM: Justice Navigation Program

REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To assist and support individuals in navigating the criminal justice system through practical assistance, advocacy, referrals, and case management.

Qualifications and Skills Required

· Post Secondary in related field (Law, Psychology, Sociology) and/or ability to register with Ontario Colleges of Social Workers and Social Services Workers

· CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Check

· CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Prevention, CPR and First Aid, Suicide Intervention training

· Knowledge of local programs, services and resources

· 2-3 Years knowledge of criminal court processes, including bail, and the roles of legal counsel, probation and parole, correctional institutions, and community services.

· Excellent interviewing, counselling, case management, recording and data collection skills

· Superior analytical and decision making skills





· Advanced oral and written communication and Interpersonal skills

· Solid team member with ability to also work independently

· Lived experience of homelessness and/or who self-identify as being from the 2SLGBTQIA+ or marginalized community, including Indigenous peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities are prioritized.
