The Opportunity

Calgary, AB • Full-Time • Hybrid (1 Day Remote)

An established energy technology company is seeking an experienced Lead Developer to combine hands-on full-stack engineering with technical leadership. You’ll design and deliver customer-facing features, guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers and collaborate across Product, Delivery and IT to build scalable solutions that support business growth.

What You'll Do

- Lead the design and development of innovative customer-facing software features.
- Build end-to-end solutions across frontend, backend, APIs and databases.
- Make architectural decisions spanning application, middleware and data layers.
- Partner with Product, Delivery and IT teams on feasibility and technical direction.
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and delivery plans.
- Evaluate technical trade-offs and advocate for pragmatic, effective solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and champion quality, security and engineering standards.
- Mentor engineers and foster technical growth, collaboration and innovation.
- Diagnose complex problems using evidence, analysis and structured problem-solving.
- Apply AI and agentic LLM tools where they create meaningful engineering value.





What We Are Looking For

- 7–10+ years of skilled software engineering experience.
- Strong full-stack experience across user interfaces, APIs and databases.
- Experience with React, React Native, Expo, Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience with Python, PostgreSQL and Snowflake or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, Bedrock or comparable cloud services.
- Experience with DataDog, Auth0, CircleCI and Terraform is an asset.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and evidence-based decision-making.
- Ownership mentality with the ability to drive projects through successful delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
