Role Description

The Maintenance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary South in Calgary, AB. This role oversees daily maintenance operations across both properties, ensuring building systems, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are safe, functional, and well-presented. The Maintenance Manager coordinates and performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs on equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other hotel infrastructure. This position schedules and supervises maintenance staff, manages work orders, maintains inventory of tools and supplies, and works closely with other departments to minimize disruption to guests. The Maintenance Manager also supports compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements,



and brand guidelines, and handles vendor relationships and basic budgeting for maintenance projects.

Qualifications

- Strong maintenance management and supervisory skills, including experience leading maintenance or engineering teams in a hospitality or similar workplace.
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance and maintenance & repair for building systems, guest rooms, and common areas.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve common issues.
- Commitment to safety practices, familiarity with occupational health and safety standards, and ability to ensure a safe work environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with hotel leadership and frontline teams.
- Organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple tasks, manage work orders, and meet deadlines.
- Experience coordinating with external contractors and vendors; basic budgeting and cost-control skills are an asset.
- Previous maintenance or engineering experience in hotels or multi-unit facilities preferred; technical certification or trades training is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Calgary, AB, with flexibility for different shifts, weekends, and on-call responsibilities as required.
