The Opportunity We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with Building Services and HVAC experience to join our Hamilton, Ontario office. The successful candidate will support the design and execution of HVAC and building services projects in industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute all aspects of the design process for HVAC and building services projects in industrial settings.
- Assist the lead mechanical engineer with project design, layout, and the determination of design inputs and requirements.
- Ensure layouts meet functional requirements.
- Prepare component and equipment specifications for engineering review.
- Select suitable components and equipment based on project specifications.
- Develop installation, duct routing, and piping details in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Create 3D and 2D project deliverables using Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
- Produce final construction drawings in accordance with JNE standards.
- Participate in site visits as required, coordinate personnel,



and review site conditions.
- Assist with the supervision, training, and direction of assigned CAD operators and junior designers.
- Support overall project planning, including timelines and schedules.
- Proactively seek feedback and learning opportunities from others.

Qualifications And Education

- University degree or college diploma, with related work experience.
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
- Membership in a professional association is preferred.

Preferred Experience And Skills

- Experience delivering projects using Revit MEP is preferred.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Plant 3D is an asset.
- Experience implementing HVAC solutions in large-scale industrial settings.
- Experience in the metals or mining industry is an asset.
- Experience with HVAC and building services in commercial and light industrial settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Ontario Building Code in an industrial setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Fire Code and fire protection systems is an asset.
- Ability to complete tasks effectively, efficiently, and professionally.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-directed, task- and goal-oriented approach.




- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
