Are you passionate about community health and improving the wellbeing of residents in South Georgian Bay? The South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre (SGBCHC) is currently seeking strategic, forward thinking volunteer Board members with Not-for-Profit experience to help lead our mission of delivering equitable and accessible healthcare services to our community.

As a member of our Board of Directors, you will contribute to a culture of shared responsibility, bringing your unique perspectives to the table alongside other dedicated volunteer board members. Together, you’ll help develop and implement our strategic plan, apply your financial and treasury acumen, monitor performance, assess risks, and ensure the sustainability of our operations.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about community health and want to contribute to the wellbeing of our community.

What we’re looking for:

- Experience in the following:

i. Financial Management / Treasury – a requirement ii. Capital Project Management – an asset iii. Human Resources Management – an asset iv. Fundraising experience would be an asset




- Interest in moving to immediate leadershop role Chairing the Resources Committee of the Board and to become Treasurer of the organization
- Interest in community health and wellbeing
- A desire to improve healthcare access and equity.
- A commitment to shaping the healthcare landscape in South Georgian Bay.
- An understanding of the social determinants of health (e.g., income, housing, food security) and how these factors affect the health of individuals.

Previous Not-for-Profit Board experience is required. Time commitment & terms:

- Board Meetings in-person and while Committee meetings are virtual
- Board members must live, work, or study in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview, Elmvale, The Town of The Blue Mountains, or surrounding areas.
- Two meetings (one Committee and one Board) per month, September to June each up to 2 hours in the early evening.
- Additional time required for meeting preparation.
- Board terms are 1 to 3 years with a total term limit of 6 years
- This is a volunteer (unpaid) position.
