Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly

Shift Work Required: Yes - shift work may be required

Rate of Pay: $31.20 per hour The start date will follow the selection process.

Main Function: Operate municipal tractor with attachments or other similar type equipment.

Characteristic: Under the supervision of a Foreperson.

Duties:

1. Operate municipal tractor with attachments during winter months.
2. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
3. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Training:

- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.

Experience:

- Proven ability to operator a municipal tractor with attachments.
- Must have some mechanical knowledge to avoid damage to the equipment.

Other Requirements:

- Ability to read and follow manufacturer’s routine maintenance instructions.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver's licence and have an acceptable driving record.

a candidate who can be expected to meet the required qualifications within a reasonable period of time may be considered for this position as a development opportunity. Development opportunity rate of pay: $29.64 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced rate until the minimum qualifications have been met.
