Twin Staffing

Calgary

Location: 100% on-site, Calgary, Alberta

Type: Full-time

Partner: Twin Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a Calgary-based organization that operates across corporate, field, and operational technology (OT) environments.

About the Role

Our partner is looking for a Network Engineer to take ownership of its core network and treat it as a service platform for every application, cloud service, and OT system that relies on it. This is a hands-on role based full-time at the Calgary office. You’ll work alongside Field Operations, IT Operations, Information Security, and vendors to keep the network available, secure, and well documented.

You’ll own the core and centrally managed infrastructure. You’ll also act as the escalation point and subject matter expert for field teams. This role is not part of a scheduled on-call rotation.

What You’ll Do

Core network and platform operations

- Own the availability, performance, and supportability of core network infrastructure and the cloud-based platforms used to manage and monitor it.
- Administer routing, switching, gateways, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and VPN and remote connectivity.
- Monitor capacity, utilization, and performance across corporate, field, and cloud-connected environments.
- Resolve incidents that start in the core network, and support field escalations that need engineering expertise, configuration changes, or vendor involvement.

Standards, configuration, and documentation

- Build and maintain standard configurations, templates, and approved design patterns.
- Detect and correct configuration drift across centrally managed networks.
- Keep diagrams, inventories, addressing,

and support documentation accurate and current.
- Give Field and IT Operations the standards and diagnostic guidance they need to support field sites.

Engineering and lifecycle

- Design scalable network solutions for corporate, field, OT, cloud, and project environments.
- Turn business, security, and performance requirements into practical designs.
- Evaluate new technologies and make documented recommendations.
- Manage firmware, licensing, capacity, and end-of-life planning.

Connected systems and OT

- Understand the applications, OT, IoT, and building systems on the network, including their traffic, protocols, and dependencies.
- Maintain an inventory and dependency map of connected systems.
- Design segmentation and connectivity around each system’s needs and risk profile.
- Identify unknown or unmanaged devices and traffic, and work with Information Security to address them.
- Assess the network impact of new systems and vendor connections before they go live.

Security, resilience, and problem management

- Implement approved security controls and remediate vulnerabilities and compliance findings.
- Maintain recoverable configurations and support recovery planning and testing.

- Lead root-cause analysis and put permanent fixes in place for recurring network issues.
- Document known issues and fixes so operational teams can resolve incidents faster.

What You Bring

- 5 to 8 years in network engineering, administration, or infrastructure operations
- Hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and VPNs
- Strong command of DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, subnetting, and traffic management
- Experience with cloud-based network management and monitoring platforms
- Experience with traffic flow analysis and performance monitoring tools
- A track record designing corporate, field, and cloud-connected networks
- Experience with configuration templates, drift detection, and remediation
- Experience managing firmware, patching, upgrades, and lifecycles
- Transparent documentation habits, including diagrams, inventories, and standards
- Comfort working with field teams, vendors, and service providers
- A structured, analytical approach to troubleshooting, and strong communication skills

Nice to Have

- Experience with PCI or other regulated network environments
- Experience with OT, BAS, IoT, or building-system networks and protocols such as BACnet and Modbus
- Network, security, or cloud networking certifications

Why Apply

- An ownership role with real influence over network standards and design
- A broad technical mix spanning corporate, field, cloud, and OT
- No scheduled on-call rotation
- A collaborative, on-site team in Calgary

Interested? Apply through Twin Staffing. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Calgary five days a week.
