On-Site Cleaner and Building Manager | Edmonton
Your Key Rental Management | Your Stay Alberta
Full-time | $18 to $25 per hour plus incentives | On-site accommodation available
Immediate start. We are hiring this week.
About Us
Your Key Rental Management has managed rental properties across Alberta for over a decade. In Edmonton, we operate a residential building with a mix of short-term guest suites and long-term tenants. We are looking for one capable, reliable person to own the building day to day and hold every unit to a high standard.
The Role
You are our person on site and the authority in the building. Your core work is cleaning: guest turnovers, move-out cleans, and keeping the building presentable. Beyond cleaning, you show units to prospective tenants, meet trades and vendors, respond to guest and tenant needs, and act as our eyes and hands on the ground. There is work almost every day, including weekends and holidays.
What You'll Do
Cleaning
- Complete guest turnover cleans to our checklist standard, including kitchens, bathrooms, floors, linens, and staging.
- Complete move-out cleans for long-term tenants so units are ready to show and re-rent quickly.
- Inspect units before every arrival and fix anything that falls short.
- Take out trash as units turn over and keep shared areas clean, including hallways, entrances, stairwells, and the laundry room.
- Manage linens and laundry using the building's shared laundry facilities.
- Restock guest supplies and cleaning products and flag when inventory runs low.
- Photograph completed work and report damage, missing items, or maintenance needs the same day.
Tenants and Leasing
- Conduct showings for prospective tenants on a set schedule.
- Complete move-in and move-out inspections with photos and documentation.
- Handle key handoffs and respond to lockouts and access issues.
Building Care and Coordination
- Meet maintenance, pest control, plumbers, and other trades on site and provide access as needed.
- Handle minor fixes such as changing batteries in smart locks and devices, installing curtains and hardware, tightening fixtures, and easy repairs.
- Watch for early signs of pests, leaks, odours, or damage and report them right away.
- Receive and store deliveries for the building.
- Respond to urgent on-site issues such as leaks or access problems, and escalate when needed.
Guest and Tenant Conduct
- Enforce building rules with guests and tenants, calmly and firmly.
- Handle difficult situations professionally, including unauthorized occupants or guests who must leave, with support from our team and local authorities when needed.
- Document incidents clearly and follow our escalation process.
What You Bring
- At least 2 years of professional cleaning experience, ideally in short-term rentals, hotels, or residential turnover.
- A sharp eye for detail. You notice what others miss and fix it before anyone asks.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning products, surfaces, and methods, including what not to use on what.
- Confidence and positive judgment in tense situations. You stay calm, set boundaries, and know when to escalate.
- Ownership and reliability. You work well without supervision and follow through.
- Basic handyperson skills and comfort with simple tools.
- Clear communication and comfort using smartphone apps for task lists, photos, and team messaging.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, climb stairs, and stand for long periods.
- Availability most days of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to pass a criminal record check.
What We Offer
- $18 to $25 per hour, based on experience, plus incentives
- On-site accommodations that form part of the overall compensation package
- Steady, consistent work in a growing portfolio
- Clear standards, training, and support from an experienced operations team
- Real authority on site, with direct access to leadership when it matters
- A team where people who have worked hard have grown into larger roles
