Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for helping others, and a keen interest in the optical field.

Responsibilities

- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes at the front desk.
- Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including taking medical histories and measuring visual acuity.
- Assist the optometrist during examinations by preparing instruments and ensuring the exam room is ready.
- Educate patients on eyewear options, including lenses and frames, while providing expert advice on optical products.
- Manage electronic medical records efficiently ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments and follow up with patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sterilizing equipment as needed.




- Handle retail sales transactions for eyewear products while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a medical office or optical setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong front desk skills with an emphasis on patient care and customer service. .
- Sales experience in retail or optical environments is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- A positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
