Dr. Vetamin Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Hospital is seeking experienced and compassionate Overnight Locum Veterinarians to join our growing team in Ottawa.

This position offers a unique opportunity for veterinarians looking for overnight shifts with a low caseload and a primary focus on monitoring and managing hospitalized patients, rather than a high-volume emergency setting.

Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic, surgical, and critical care capabilities, allowing our overnight veterinarians to provide excellent patient care with the necessary resources and support.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide overnight medical supervision and care for hospitalized patients.
- Monitor patient progress, assess clinical changes, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Manage overnight emergencies and new patient admissions when required.
- Communicate with the daytime veterinary team to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Work collaboratively with veterinary technicians and support staff.
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment updates.

Qualifications
- Valid licence to practise veterinary medicine in Ontario (CVO).
- Experience in small animal emergency medicine, urgent care, or inpatient management preferred.
- Confidence in independently assessing and managing hospitalized patients.
- Ability to recognize and stabilize emergency and critical care cases.
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills.
