About the Client:

We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for an active 89-year-old gentleman living independently in Scarborough (Neilson and Eglinton area). He still drives, manages his own banking, and maintains his independence. He's passionate about baseball and football, tends to his koi pond, and stays current with world events. After a recent hospitalization for an aortic aneurysm repair, his family wants to ensure he has consistent companionship and light support while he continues his recovery at home.

Responsibilities:

- Provide warm companionship and engaging conversation, particularly around sports and current events
- Light meal assistance including reheating prepared meals and gentle reminders to eat properly
- Light housekeeping such as tidying common areas and making the bed
- Occasional light cleaning and organizing
- Monitor overall wellbeing and communicate any concerns to family
- Encourage social engagement and provide a friendly presence to combat loneliness

What We're Looking For:

- Male caregiver aged 45 who can relate to the client's interests and life experiences
- Solid interest in or knowledge of baseball and football
- Warm, patient, and calm demeanor with positive energy
- Reliable and consistent with excellent communication skills
- Takes initiative while respecting the client's independence
- English speaking (preference for South Asian, Sri Lankan, Indian, or Filipino background, though not required)
- Experience working with seniors who value their autonomy

Schedule:

Two visits per week,



3 hours each visit. Preferred days are Monday and Thursday mornings (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM). Schedule flexibility may be needed occasionally. This is a long-term position with the family seeking consistency and a genuine connection between caregiver and client. The client's niece lives in the home but has a busy schedule with university and coaching commitments, so she's not available for regular support during weekdays.

Client values his independence and needs someone who respects that while providing gentle support and social engagement.
