Pharmacy Assistant - Community & Compounding Pharmacy

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our independent community pharmacy team. This role offers a unique opportunity to take on a lead position within our compounding operations, while also supporting dispensing workflow, inventory management, and delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Compounding Leadership

- Lead and support daily non-sterile compounding operations
- Prepare compounded prescriptions with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain compounding records, logs, and quality assurance processes
- Support inventory and sourcing of compounding ingredients and supplies
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices

Dispensing & Workflow Support

- Assist with prescription intake, data entry, and preparation
- Support pharmacists and technicians in dispensing processes
- Maintain organization and efficiency of workflow

Inventory Management

- Monitor stock levels and place orders
- Manage expiry tracking and stock rotation
- Maintain accurate inventory records

Customer Care

- Provide warm, professional, and knowledgeable service to patients
- Assist with front store and pharmacy inquiries




- Support a welcoming and patient-centered environment

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience (community pharmacy preferred)
- Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma (or equivalent education and training)
- Completion of a Non-Sterile Compounding Certificate Program
- Demonstrated experience or strong competency in non-sterile compounding
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
