As Plumbing and Gas Manager, you will oversee the District Plumbing, Gas and Sprinkler Inspectors, ensuring compliance with the Vancouver Building By-law and Provincial Gas Safety Regulations. In this pivotal role, your expertise will guide the implementation of public safety standards while promoting a culture of sustainability and equity. Your abilities in policy development and team leadership will be critical in managing inspectional staff and conducting technical evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:



• Manage technical inspections for plumbing and gas compliance • Lead and coach staff in their inspection activities • Ensure workload distribution among inspection teams • Develop policies for energy and water efficiency • Represent the City in grievance processes and investigations

Requirements: • 10+ years of relevant experience post-qualification • Certification as a Gas Inspector and in Plumbing • Proven management capabilities in regulatory environments • Strong skills in building design and construction • Effective communication and negotiation abilities
