Job Title: Processing Technician

The Processing Technician works independently within multiple pharmaceutical manufacturing departments, including palletizing, granulation, compression, coating, dispensing, inspection, and packaging. This role focuses on safely and accurately processing products according to written procedures, preparing and cleaning equipment and rooms, and supporting various production areas based on demand. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with batch records in a regulated GMP environment.

Responsibilities

- Process and manufacture pharmaceutical products in accordance with written processing orders and batch records.
- Prepare manufacturing areas and equipment for the production of pharmaceutical products, ensuring all setup steps are completed accurately.
- Clean processing equipment, tools, and rooms following written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Troubleshoot machines for minor mechanical issues and perform basic adjustments to maintain continuous production.
- Work independently within assigned departments such as palletizing, granulation, compression, coating, dispensing, inspection, and packaging, adapting to changing production needs.
- Accurately weigh and dispense materials in the dispensing department, including handling loads of up to 50 lbs, and complete all required documentation.
- Load and unload mixers in the granulation department, handling heavy materials up to 50 lbs, and ensure proper mixing of chemicals according to instructions.

Essential Skills





- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with machines, including the ability to perform minor troubleshooting and adjustments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as required by specific departments (dispensing, granulation, coating, compression).
- Experience working in a GMP environment and following SOPs, with solid attention to regulatory and quality requirements.
- Proven experience working with batch records and production documentation in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong reading and writing skills in English, with the ability to complete documentation accurately and clearly.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Whitby, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
