Production Labourers Wanted

Starting Wage: $34.33 per hour

Decker Lake Forest Products is seeking motivated, safety-focused individuals to join our team as Production Labourers. Opportunities may be available in our Sawmill, Planer Mill, and Cleanup Departments.

This is a fast-paced position that requires physically fit individuals and plays a critical role in maintaining safe and effective operations. Successful candidates will be reliable team players who enjoy hands-on work and are committed to working safely while maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

- Sort, stack, and handle lumber products
- Perform cleanup and housekeeping duties throughout the sawmill and planer operations
- Assist with the movement of lumber and wood residuals
- Operate production equipment as assigned
- Support production and maintenance personnel as required
- Monitor work areas and report safety or equipment concerns
- Follow all safety procedures, policies, and safe work practices
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Grade 12 Dogwood Diploma a minimum of one year of forest industry experience
- Strong commitment to safety
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a team workplace
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced industrial setting
- Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks throughout a shift
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, carry, push, and pull materials safely
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends,



and overtime as required
- Previous sawmill, planer, manufacturing, or industrial experience is an asset but not required
- Valid Occupational First Aid certification is considered an asset
- Lumber Grading Ticket is considered an asset

Preference may be given to applicants with Occupational First Aid certification, a Lumber Grading Ticket, or previous experience in a sawmill, planer mill, or industrial manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

This position involves continuous physical activity, including:

- Lifting and carrying materials
- Stacking, sorting and piling lumber
- Walking and climbing stairs
- Shoveling and cleanup activities
- Standing for extended periods
- Working in varying environmental conditions

Candidates must be capable of safely performing these essential duties throughout their shift.
