Our financial services client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer (10+ years) to design, implement, and optimize electronic trading platforms using Java and low-latency systems

Join a team supporting large-scale front office electronic trading initiatives within a global banking setting. This role focuses on enhancing and scaling electronic trading platforms across Cash Equities and Capital Markets using Java in highly automated and containerized environments. The position offers exposure to real-time and low-latency systems with collaboration across global engineering teams.

Contract, Toronto, Hybrid, 3 days per week in-office. Days must align with team schedule. Thursday is a must

Must Haves

- 10+ years developing low-latency systems or real-time software applications
- Advanced proficiency in Java, including concurrency, tuning, and memory management
- Hands-on use of Linux/UNIX command line interface
- Domain expertise in Cash Equities and Capital Markets

Nice to Have

- Using agentic AI for software maintenance
- Container runtimes including Podman and Docker with Kubernetes orchestration
- Message passing systems such as Kafka and Aeron
- Data-driven optimizations including profiling and metrics collection

Responsibilities

- Design enhancements to the electronic trading platform
