Project Director, Buildings

Stantec is hiring a Major Projects Director for its Buildings team. The role supports large, complex building projects across Quebec and works with major-project teams throughout North America. The position is based in the Montréal, Laval, or Longueuil office.

Responsibilities

- Lead the full project life cycle, including design, planning, delivery, administration, and closeout.
- Lead multidisciplinary project management, project controls, and design teams.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, quality, and profitability.
- Provide technical leadership and review project deliverables for feasibility, compliance, and consistency.
- Manage project risks, contracts, and commercial issues; support client and subcontractor negotiations.
- Coordinate with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and risk, finance, insurance, and legal teams.
- Coach team members and support business development activities.





Qualifications

- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
- More than 15 years of experience as a building project manager or project director in consulting engineering.
- Strong technical and contractual knowledge and understanding of construction and project delivery methods, including design-build, P3, and IPD.
- Experience managing large, complex projects and knowledge of scheduling, project controls, and document management.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and French.

Regular, full time position. Primary location: Montréal, Quebec; other listed locations include Laval and Longueuil. No travel is indicated.
