The REACH Respite Program is seeking an experienced Punjabi or Hindi speaking respite caregiver to provide hourly care in the family’s North Delta home, one or two days a week between 4pm and 8pm. This child is visually impaired and loves music, drawing, wheelchair dancing and sensory-based play. Duties include providing physical assistance in all areas of daily living, including bathing. This is a contractor position, perfect for those seeking casual/part-time work.

Successful candidates will

· have a minimum of 1 year working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and a post-secondary certificate in human services or related field.

· have a nursing background and/or experience in seizure management, GJ tube feeding and use of a wheelchair.

· have a passion for working with the children/youth in the special need’s community.

· have training and/or practical experience using augmentative communication devices; i.e. TouchChat

· be able to work independently, follow a child/youth’s care plan in providing support.

· be required to complete a screening process





As a REACH respite caregiver, you’ll:

· build relationships

· give families temporary relief from the challenges of caring for a child with a developmental disability

· provide a child or youth with the opportunity to participate in activities and learn new things

· have a flexible schedule

· learn recent skills from trainings offered

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
