MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE COOKING in a retirement home setting or long term care

The cook will prepare meals and follow establishment recipes. Duties include but are not limited to:
Setting up, sanitizing, cleaning, and organizing work stations
Preparing ingredients for the shift and/or the following shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc, and following food health and safety procedures.
Home Style Cooking is expected, COOKING FULL MEALS FROM START TO FINISH
Storing all food properly, monitoring and recording food temps, fridge temps etc.
Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed

Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, creativity, and efficiency, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
Follow established recipes, portion sizes,



and food handling procedures to maintain quality standards
Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients for service
Serve food promptly and courteously to guests, ensuring a positive dining experience
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment sanitation and proper storage of ingredients
Adhere strictly to food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of supply needs

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 30.0 per week
