Job Summary

We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Bookkeeper and Payroll Preparer to join our dynamic accounting team. For nearly 20 years, JBS has been providing accounting services to many, many local business proprietors and corporate owners. And if you have working knowledge and experience with personal tax preparation, that will add to your work prospects.

Work day and work week flexibility, with quiet periods and busy periods at various times each month, and also throughout the year. An average of 10 to 15 hours per week but with additional hours available from time to time, this may lead to an average of 20 hours per week for the year (1000 hours, or 55% FTE). And if personal tax preparation is added to the workload, the hours could increase to 1200 hours, or 65% FTE.

Responsibilities
Produce and maintain accurate financial records for our clients using Sage accounting software.
Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies.
Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure data integrity.
Prepare payroll accurately and timely for our clients,



ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
An chance to also prepare personal T1 Tax Returns.
Aid with the administrative support for the office.

Qualifications
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and our diverse array of clients.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Proven experience with bookkeeping, payroll processing, and accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Paymate.
Strong understanding of accounting principles including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliation.
Knowledge of payroll regulations and experience preparing payroll for employees or contractors.
Familiarity with account reconciliation, and account analysis.
Ability to analyze financial data accurately and efficiently.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
