Out of School Leader/Educator

Emmanuel Baptist Church Child Care is seeking a passionate, energetic, and responsible Afterschool Leader/Educator to join our team. If you love working with children and want to make a positive impact on their daily development, we want to hear from you!

Job Details
Wage: $22.00 per hour
Job Type: Part time
Hours: 15 to 17.50 hours per week (Monday to Friday 2:00pm – 5:30pm)
Benefits:
Paid sick days (one per month)
4% vacation pay

Key Responsibilities

· Work in ratio with a group of up to 24 children alongside afterschool director.

· Pick-up children from their respective schools.
Supervise and lead groups of school-aged children from kindergarten to Grade 5 in a protected, welcoming, and inclusive setting.
Plan and implement engaging recreational activities, arts and crafts, and active games.
Assist children with life skills, and positive behavior guidance.
Maintain open and professional communication with parents, guardians, and team members.
Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the program space.




Familiar with Child Care licensing regulation.
Plan and lead children in practicing for annual Christmas Service performance.
Make an activity plan and day schedule for Early Dismissal and Pro-D days.

Qualifications & Requirements
Experience working with children in a camp, daycare, afterschool, or educational setting preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Available for full day shift on Early Dismissal and Pro-D days.
Available for 1 or 2 weeks of full day shifts for Spring Camp.
Ability to pass a clear Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check.
First Aid and CPR Certification.
Holds one of these certificates: Responsible Adult, ECEA, ECE.
Willingness to obtain Class 4 Driver's license will be an asset.

*ECE’s are qualified for additional $6 Wage Enhancement.
