Mystik Café is Canada’s first immersive reptile and ocean-themed café, tucked into Kensington Market. Our 2,000 sq ft space blends a specialty café with a curated Reptile Jungle home to 70+ reptiles across 40+ species.

About the Role

The Ambassador Host is a hybrid role: you’ll work both the café bar and the Reptile Jungle, often in the same shift. Half your time is spent pulling espresso and crafting specialty drinks. The other half is guiding guests through our Jungle, running info sessions, and helping care for our animal space.

What You’ll Do

In the café: Make drinks on our semi-automatic espresso machine, serve pastries, process payments, open/close following checklists, and keep the bar and seating area clean.

In the Jungle: Greet guests, confirm waivers, run self-guided and guided experiences, and share engaging facts about our animals.

Caring for the space: Mist enclosures, maintain cleanliness, manage habitat lighting, feed animals on schedule, and report anything unusual to senior staff.

Across both zones:



Move between café and Jungle as needed, maintain strict hand hygiene between zones, and never leave guests unattended in the Jungle.

What We’re Looking For
Minimum 6 months barista experience on a commercial or semi-automatic espresso machine
Confident with milk steaming, latte art, and dialing in espresso
Outgoing, warm, and comfortable speaking to groups
Strong multitasker in a quick-paced setting
Able to lift up to 20 kg
Weekend and holiday availability
Interest in reptiles or nature is a plus (training provided)
