Position Summary
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Local Delivery Driver to join our delivery team. The successful candidate will operate a 2500–3500 series refrigerated box truck and make local deliveries to restaurants, institutions, and grocery customers throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality.
When delivery duties are completed, this role will also support our inside team with order preparation, packing, and shipping activities.
Key Responsibilities
Morning truck checks
Maintain a clean vehicle
Delivery of products to local restaurants, institutions and grocery.
Other Duties to Support the Inside Team
When time allows between deliveries, assist the inside team with:
Pick fresh, frozen and dry goods and prepare them for delivery
Prepare boxes and materials for shipping orders.
Pack seafood items as required for shipping
Load and unload delivery trucks efficiently and safely
Operate pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified or trained)
Follow all safety and handling procedures
Qualifications
Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Previous local delivery experience is an asset.
Robust knowledge of Halifax Regional Municipality roads and local routes.
Robust attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.
Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
Forklift experience or certification is an asset.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 – 45.0 per week
