Support student well-being at Port Hardy Secondary School as a part-time School Counsellor. This role focuses on crisis intervention, SEL programs, and deeper connections with students.

The Vancouver Island North School District is seeking a qualified individual for a 0.57 FTE temporary position. Candidates must hold a Master’s in counselling and have experience at the secondary level. You will work collaboratively with staff and play a critical role in coordinating support for students and families.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide counselling services in individual and group settings
• Collaborate with staff to implement effective SEL interventions
• Liaise with parents and external agencies for support




• Assess and respond to student crises effectively
• Embed Indigenous culture in counselling practices

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in counselling is required
• Experience as a secondary school counsellor
• Familiarity with the BC Graduation Program
• Knowledge of student exceptionalities and crisis response
• Ability to work in an alternative learning workplace
