The Loose Cannon & Bitter End are busy Halifax bars known for great service, live music, and a fun, welcoming crowd. We’re looking for a reliable, level-headed security team member who wants solid weekly hours. On top of regular security shifts, this role includes two cleaning shifts per week for extra guaranteed hours.

Security Duties (Evening/Late Night)

- Check ID at the door and refuse entry to minors or intoxicated guests
- Monitor the venue and keep things safe, calm, and friendly
- Calmly de-escalate conflicts and handle problem guests professionally
- Manage capacity, line-ups, and entry during busy nights and events
- Support staff at close, including clearing the venue at last call
- Report incidents to management

Cleaning Duties (2 Shifts per Week)

- Deep clean washrooms, floors, and seating areas
- Take out garbage and recycling
- Restock washroom supplies





What We’re Looking For

- 19+ years of age
- Calm under pressure with strong communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working late nights and weekends
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Previous security, door, or bar experience is an asset
- NS security licence, Serve Right NS, or First Aid certification is an asset

Schedule

- Security: 9pm - 2:30am
- Cleaning: 2:30am - 4:30am
