Position: Full Time Patrol Guard

Site: Scarborough Birchmount Hospital | 3030 Birchmount Road in Toronto (Scarborough)

Overtime Method: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Continental Days (0700-1900)

Payrate: $18.73/hour

Key responsibilities:

- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
- Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities
- Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
- Act quickly in emergency situations,



such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises
- Greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and hospital staff
- De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally
- Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately
- Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved
- Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed

Prerequisites:

- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
