Senior React Native/Mobile Engineer

About the Opportunity An creative, early-stage technology company in the sports, gaming, and digital entertainment space is seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to help build and scale its mobile platform for sports and casino sweepstakes.

The Role

You'll lead the transition from a WebView-based architecture to a more native, high-performance React Native experience across iOS and Android. Working closely with engineering, product, and design teams, you'll improve the user journey, from onboarding to engagement and retention.

The ideal candidate combines strong mobile development expertise with a product mindset, thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, and enjoys tackling complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive the modernization of the mobile architecture, transitioning from WebView-dependent functionality toward a more native React Native application.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain reliable, high-performance mobile applications across iOS and Android.
- Partner with backend engineers to implement robust API integrations, real-time data flows, effective caching mechanisms, and resilient network communication.
- Work alongside product managers and designers to deliver intuitive interfaces, smooth animations, native gestures, and polished mobile interactions.
- Manage the end-to-end mobile deployment process, including release preparation, over-the-air updates, beta distribution,



and publishing through the relevant app stores.
- Track application performance and user behavior using tools such as Firebase, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and AppsFlyer, translating insights into technical and product improvements.
- Define and improve mobile engineering standards, including code quality practices, automated testing, development tooling, and team workflows.
- Identify performance bottlenecks, resolve technical issues, and continuously improve application stability, responsiveness, and maintainability.
- Contribute to technical planning and product discussions, helping the team make informed decisions as the platform evolves.

Required Experience and Skills

- 4+ years of professional experience building and releasing mobile applications for both iOS and Android.
- Advanced proficiency in React Native and TypeScript, with a track record of delivering production-ready applications.
- Strong knowledge of mobile application architecture, navigation patterns, state management, and performance tuning.
- Experience with mobile analytics, attribution, experimentation, push notifications, and app release management across App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with expertise in mobile performance profiling, memory management,



rendering optimization, and React Native bridge bottlenecks.
- Experience building reliable mobile applications with backend integrations and real-time data, while maintaining a strong focus on usability and UI quality.
- A proactive, adaptable team player with excellent communication skills, capable of working independently and influencing technical and product decisions in a fast-paced setting.

Additional Experience That Would Be Valuable

- Previous work in iGaming, online casinos, sports betting, sweepstakes, fintech, or other consumer-facing products where real-time functionality is a big plus.
- Experience improving onboarding flows, conversion rates, user activation, retention, or customer lifecycle engagement.
- Familiarity with native mobile development using Swift, Kotlin, or both.
- Involvement in feature discovery, product ideation, roadmap discussions, or broader technical strategy.
- Exposure to mobile experimentation tools, user attribution solutions, and customer engagement platforms.
