We are looking for a versatile Senior QA Specialist with 7+ years of experience who combines strong manual website testing skills with practical experience using AI tools to improve QA workflows and help teammates develop their skills.
Our team currently performs testing manually. You will initially spend a significant portion of your time planning and executing manual tests while identifying opportunities to improve how we work. Alongside your testing responsibilities, you will build and validate AI-assisted solutions, implement useful automation, and train the team to use these tools effectively.
As reliable solutions are adopted, some repetitive activities will become automated. Manual testing will remain an ongoing responsibility, particularly for exploratory testing, usability, accessibility, complex scenarios, and work that requires human judgment. The balance between testing and improvement work will evolve with project needs and the reliability of the solutions you implement.
About our QA Craft
Our QA craft helps ensure the quality, reliability, usability, and accessibility of BusyQA solutions across the omnichannel ecosystem. As part of the Omnichannel Enablement Technology team, we collaborate across design, development, deployment, and ongoing support, combining hands-on testing with automation and AI to deliver high-quality experiences for healthcare brands, patients, and professionals.
Responsibilities
Manual website testing
- Plan and execute functional, exploratory, regression, responsive, and cross-browser testing across desktop and mobile experiences.
- Test website content, navigation, forms, integrations, and key user journeys against requirements and designs.
- Perform accessibility testing using automated checks and manual techniques, including keyboard navigation and screen readers.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and clear defect reports with reproducible steps and supporting evidence.
- Investigate issues using browser developer tools and collaborate with developers to verify fixes.
- Communicate testing progress, coverage, release risks, and outstanding issues.
- Manage testing across multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Maintain manual testing coverage while new AI-assisted solutions and automation are developed, validated, and introduced.
AI implementation and automation
- Identify repetitive or time-consuming QA activities where AI tools or automation could improve efficiency, consistency, or coverage.
- Propose practical improvements, build working pilots, evaluate their results, and implement solutions that demonstrate value.
- Use tools such as Claude, Codex, or comparable AI assistants to support test scenario creation, edge-case analysis, test data preparation, scripting, and defect investigation.
- Build, troubleshoot, and maintain testing utilities and automated browser checks where appropriate.
- Review and validate AI-generated test cases, findings, and code before relying on them.
- Determine which activities should be automated, supported by AI, or kept manual based on risk, reliability, maintenance effort, and the judgment required.
- Document implemented solutions so teammates can use and maintain them.
- Measure whether improvements save time, improve coverage, or reduce repeated work.
- Follow company requirements for confidential information, client data, and approved AI tools.
Team training and collaboration
- Train and mentor QA teammates through demonstrations, hands-on sessions, pairing, and practical guides.
- Help colleagues use AI tools effectively, provide useful context, and verify generated outputs.
- Explain the strengths and limitations of each solution, including when manual review is required.
- Collaborate with QA, development, design, and project management to prioritize improvements that address real project needs.
- Gather feedback from teammates and refine tools and workflows to support consistent adoption.
Qualifications
Required experience and skills
- Seven or more (7+) years of hands-on QA experience testing websites and web applications, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Strong skills in manual, exploratory, regression, responsive, cross-browser, and accessibility testing.
- Practical experience using AI assistants in QA, development, or related technical workflows.
- Examples of AI-assisted improvements you have personally implemented, including how you validated their accuracy and usefulness.
- Working proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python sufficient to build, troubleshoot, and maintain scripts or testing utilities, including those developed with AI assistance.
- Understanding of web fundamentals and confidence using browser developer tools.
- Ability to write clear test documentation and actionable defect reports.
- Experience mentoring colleagues, sharing technical knowledge, or helping a team adopt current tools and processes.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to perform substantial manual testing while developing improvements and to continue hands-on testing as the role evolves.
Additional experience we value
- Browser automation using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or comparable tools.
- API testing, Git, and integrating automated checks into delivery workflows.
- Experience introducing automation or AI-assisted workflows to a manual QA team.
- Experience evaluating AI tools and comparing their benefits, limitations, and maintenance needs.
- Digital agency, marketing website, healthcare, or regulated industry experience.
- Experience integrating AI services through APIs.
What success looks like
You deliver thorough manual testing, clear findings, and dependable coverage while improvements are being developed. You turn useful ideas into working solutions, validate their results, and help teammates adopt them confidently.
Over time, your work reduces repetitive effort and improves testing effectiveness. The team understands when to use automation, when AI assistance is helpful, and when manual testing remains essential.
