Senior Quality Engineer (Data Platforms & Cloud)

6-Month Contract (Potential Extension)

$65-$80/hr INC

Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite (Downtown Toronto)

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support enterprise data and analytics initiatives across Azure and Microsoft Fabric environments. This role is focused on ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of large-scale data platforms through automated testing, data validation, ETL testing, and cloud data pipeline validation.

The successful candidate will work closely with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to validate data movement, transformations, integrations, and reporting across modern cloud-based data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and execute test strategies, test plans, and test cases for enterprise data solutions
- Validate ETL/ELT processes, data transformations, and source-to-target mappings
- Perform data quality, reconciliation, and integrity testing across large-scale data platforms
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for data pipelines, APIs, and integrations
- Execute SQL-based validation and database testing activities
- Validate cloud-based data pipelines and analytics platforms
- Perform integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing
- Identify, document, and track defects while working closely with engineering teams on resolution
- Support CI/CD processes and automated testing initiatives




- Mentor junior team members and contribute to quality engineering best practices

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of Quality Engineering, Data Quality Engineering, or QA Automation experience
- Strong experience with ETL testing, data validation, and data pipeline testing
- Advanced SQL skills and experience performing source-to-target validation
- Experience testing enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms
- Proven experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting using Python, Java, or SQL
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of data quality, reconciliation, transformation, and data governance concepts
