Position Overview:

The successful candidate would support shipping and receiving, maintaining clean and organized shop and yard space .

The successful candidate is a multi-talented self-starter and team player who communicates well and can stay organized and focused. This individual will have mechanical aptitude or trade and/or construction experience. Ideally you are comfortable and competent using a computer, have a clean valid Class 5 Driver's license, valid CSTS and are a certified forklift operator. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:

- Support day-to-day shipping, receiving, and yard operations.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and telehandlers.
- Safely operate company trucks and trailers as required.
- Keep both yards clean, organized, and secure.
- Receive and organize incoming materials, ensuring stock is put away and project-specific materials are properly tagged and staged.
- Complete daily equipment inspections, including forklifts and telehandlers.
- Ensure aisles, emergency exits, fire equipment, and access points remain clear and accessible.
- Assist with loading larger structural steel and materials using an overhead crane, where qualified.
- Support general shop activities during slower shipping periods, including cleaning, wiping down equipment,



painting, material handling, and other tasks as assigned.
- Operate common power tools such as circular saws, Sawzalls, grinders, and drills.
- Assist with operating shop equipment, such as the laser table, with appropriate training.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

- Valid driver’s licence and ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract as a condition of employment.
- Comfortable and experienced driving a truck and trailer.
- Forklift and telehandler certification/tickets strongly preferred.
- Experience safely operating forklifts, telehandlers, or other material-handling equipment.
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
- Overhead crane experience or certification is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving, warehousing, construction, fabrication, or an industrial environment is an asset.
- Physically capable of performing a hands-on role involving lifting, loading/unloading, and working indoors and outdoors.
- Strong attention to organization and safety.
- Willingness to jump in and assist with a variety of shop, yard, and shipping tasks as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to [weight, e.g., 50 lbs] and stand for extended periods.
