About Us

Borderline Outdoor is a specialty outdoor retail store offering a wide selection of outdoor equipment, technical apparel, and winter sports gear.

As we prepare for the upcoming winter season, we are looking for two motivated and enthusiastic Sales Associates to join our Richmond Hill team.

Our store carries a variety of skiing and snowboarding equipment, including skis, snowboards, bindings, boots, helmets, goggles, technical outerwear, and accessories.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about winter sports, enjoy helping customers, and are eager to develop their product knowledge and sales skills.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Service

- Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, experience levels, and preferences.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on skis, snowboards, bindings, boots, helmets, goggles, jackets, pants, and other winter sports equipment.
- Explain product features, technical differences, and perks to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Assist customers with proper equipment sizing, selection, and compatibility.
- Recommend complementary products to enhance the customer's experience.
- Build strong customer relationships and contribute to achieving store sales targets.
- Process purchases, returns, and exchanges using our POS system.

Ski & Snowboard Services

- Assist with ski and snowboard equipment setup, adjustments, and maintenance.
- Support snowboard binding installation and adjustments.




- Assist with ski binding installation and setup when properly trained and authorized.
- Perform basic ski and snowboard maintenance, including waxing and edge care, following training and established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe equipment service area.
- Ensure all equipment services follow company safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.

Store Operations

- Maintain attractive and organized product displays.
- Assist with receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and inventory management.
- Keep the sales floor, fitting areas, and storage spaces clean and organized.
- Support daily store operations and collaborate with team members to achieve store goals.

Qualifications

Required

- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A friendly, positive, and proactive attitude.
- Genuine interest in skiing, snowboarding, or outdoor activities.
- Willingness to learn technical product knowledge and equipment maintenance skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Preferred

- Previous retail sales experience, particularly in sporting goods or outdoor equipment.
- Personal skiing or snowboarding experience.
- Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, including boots, bindings, and technical apparel.




- Experience with snowboard binding installation, ski equipment setup, waxing, or tuning.
- Experience using Shopify POS or similar retail systems.
- Additional language skills are an asset.

Previous experience with equipment maintenance is an advantage but not required. Training will be provided.
