Job Overview

Plantscape is looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join our winter snow removal team. Snow removal employees will be responsible for helping keep commercial and residential properties protected and accessible during winter weather events.

This is a weather-dependent position requiring availability during snow and freezing rain events, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

- Operate snow removal equipment such as blowers, shovels, and hand tools to clear snow from walkways, driveways, parking lots, and entry points
- Apply salt or other de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and enhance safety on surfaces
- Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas to identify icy patches or hazardous conditions requiring immediate attention
- Collaborate with landscaping or maintenance teams to coordinate snow clearing efforts with ongoing landscape or irrigation work
- Keep detailed logs of completed work, equipment usage, and safety checks for record-keeping purposes
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during snow removal activities

Qualifications

- Prior experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is an asset
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in outdoor maintenance tasks
- Construction experience or background in landscape construction is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions for extended periods of time




- Strong attention to safety procedures and detail-oriented approach to hazard identification
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including shoveling, lifting heavy loads, and operating machinery efficiently

Physical Requirements

- Ability to work outdoors in cold, snow, ice, and changing weather conditions.
- Ability to shovel and move snow when required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical work for extended periods.
- Ability to safely enter and exit equipment.
- Ability to work extended shifts during significant snow events.

Schedule Snow removal is weather-dependent. Employees must be available when snow events occur and may be required to work:

- Early mornings
- Evenings
- Overnight shifts
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Extended hours during major snow events
