Wuxly Movement

Mississauga

Wuxly is a Canadian leader in advanced textile integration, tactical apparel, smart textiles and softgoods manufacturing, pairing design, pattern engineering, supply chain and scalable production to deliver for defence and government clients. We operate as the commercial and operational bridge between breakthrough textile technologies and end users, acting as a systems integrator and program manager from concept to delivery. Our work sits in the dual-use arena: mission-ready solutions for Defence & Tactical and extreme cold weather (uniforms, outerwear, shelters, covers, concealment) alongside a growing consumer business, translating that same performance standard into premium outerwear and everyday gear built for real conditions.

Our products and programs are executed under ISO 9001/14001 discipline and shaped by performance proven in the world's harshest environments.

Reporting to Wuxly's Chief Marketing Officer, the Social Media Intern keeps Wuxly's channels active and growing through Q4. You will plan, write, schedule and publish across two brands: wuxly.com, our B2C brand in premium consumer outerwear, and wuxlydefence.com, our B2B brand serving defence and government. You write the copy, and you work with our in-house graphic designer to develop the imagery that goes with it.

This is a hands-on internship starting October 1, 2026 for a strong writer who lives on social, takes direction well and wants real ownership of live brand channels during our busiest quarter, with peak outerwear season on the consumer side and a full calendar of trade show, program and PR moments on the defence side. A background in, or genuine curiosity about, the Canadian military and defence community will make you feel at home here.

- This opportunity is offered as an internship, providing valuable hands-on experience and professional development, with the potential to transition into part-time or full-time employment based on performance and business needs.

The Opportunity
- Run the day-to-day of Wuxly's social channels across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube for both brands.
- Write for two distinct audiences: consumers buying premium outerwear, and defence, government and procurement professionals.
- Work side by side with our in-house graphic designer to turn post ideas into finished imagery.
- Help deliver the Q4 content plan, including peak-season consumer campaigns, holiday moments, trade shows and PR announcements.
- Learn how a marketing team operates inside a company that spans consumer retail and defence manufacturing.

What You'll Get Up To

Channel Management

- Build and maintain the weekly and monthly content calendar for both brands with the CMO and marketing team.
- Schedule and publish posts on each channel, following Wuxly's posting SOPs for format, timing, tagging and links.
- Keep brand and executive accounts on a consistent posting rhythm so that no channel goes quiet.
- Adapt each piece of content to the platform it lives on rather than cross-posting one version everywhere.
- Keep bios, profile details, pinned posts and highlights current on every channel.

Copywriting
- Write captions, post copy,

headlines and calls to action in each brand's voice, with editorial review before publishing.
- Shift register between brands: warm and product-led for wuxly.com, precise and credible for wuxlydefence.com.
- Draft LinkedIn posts for executive accounts from notes, interviews and company news.
- Turn press coverage, podcast episodes, product launches, new hires and events into social content.
- Write short-form copy variants for paid social testing alongside the Digital Lead.

Imagery & Creative Collaboration
- Brief the in-house graphic designer on each post: the message, audience, format, dimensions and deadline.
- Develop concepts together for carousels, static posts, story frames, thumbnails and campaign creative.
- Select and organize product, lifestyle, factory and event photography from the asset library for social use.
- Review creative against the brand guidelines and route it through the approval process before it goes live.
- Capture simple behind-the-scenes photos and phone video at HQ and events when a moment is worth sharing.

Community & Engagement
- Monitor comments, mentions and direct messages, respond in brand voice, and route customer service, media and sales inquiries to the right person.
- Engage with customers, partners, industry accounts and the Canadian defence community to grow reach for both brands.
- Watch competitor, industry and platform trends and bring forward ideas worth testing.

Reporting & Insights
- Track the performance of every post against its stated purpose, whether that is sales, inbound resumes, event traffic or awareness.
- Compile a weekly snapshot and a monthly report covering reach, engagement, follower growth and click-throughs by channel.
- Recommend what to do more of, less of and differently based on the numbers.

Standards & Workflow
- Follow the Wuxly Communications Standard on every defence post, including accurate descriptions of Wuxly's role on a program and written permission before using any government, client or program names and imagery.
- Work AI-first: use tools such as Claude for ideation, drafting and repurposing, with the judgement to edit until the copy sounds like a person wrote it.
- Keep copy decks, social assets and approvals organized so anyone on the team can pick up where you left off.
- Flag timeline, workload and quality conflicts early so priorities can be set with the CMO.

Skills & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a post-secondary program in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, media or a related field.
- A strong, clean writer, with samples of social copy you personally wrote.
- Hands-on experience running social accounts for a brand, employer, school organization, club or your own project, beyond personal use.

- A good eye for imagery and the ability to give a designer clear direction and useful feedback.
- The judgement to adapt voice between consumer and defence audiences, and to know when a post needs a second set of eyes before it goes out.
- An AI-first mindset: genuine enthusiasm for using AI tools in your daily work, paired with the craft to know when manual work produces the better result.
- Organized, deadline-driven and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting.
- Available to start October 1, 2026 and commit through December 31, 2026.
- Eligible for Canadian security clearance and registration under the Controlled Goods Program.

Software & Digital Tools
- Fluency in the native publishing and analytics tools for LinkedIn, Meta Business Suite (Instagram and Facebook), X and YouTube.
- Working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, a social scheduling platform such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Later or Sprout Social.
- Comfort with Canva or Adobe Express for quick edits and resizing, with Photoshop an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency with, or clear willingness to work daily in, AI tools such as Claude, with the judgement to review outputs before they ship.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets for reporting, and project-management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
- Background in the Canadian Armed Forces, Canadian defence community or a military family; educational background in military studies, strategic studies, defence and security studies or military history; or a genuine interest in military and defence.
- B2B social experience, particularly growing company or executive presence on LinkedIn.
- Apparel, outerwear, outdoor or performance product brand experience.
- Short-form video editing in CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar.
- Exposure to paid social, Shopify, Klaviyo or Google Analytics.
- Working French, or experience with bilingual content.

What You'll Gain
- A Q4 portfolio of published work across two live brands, one consumer and one defence.
- Direct mentorship from the CMO and daily collaboration with design, digital and business development.
- A working view of how campaigns, trade shows, PR and government-facing communications come together inside a Canadian manufacturer.

The Details
- Location: Wuxly HQ, on-site – 1680 Courtneypark Dr E, Mississauga, ON L5T 1R4.
- Term: October to December 31, 2026 (Q4).
- Travel: minimal, with occasional local events and shoots.
- Writing samples or portfolio required with application, including links to any accounts you have managed.
