- Troubleshooting issues across the full system, from hardware and firmware through to cloud services and user interfaces
- Creating tools and test specifications to support PCB bring-up and QA activities
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation and specifications
- Taking ownership of projects and initiative to drive them forward
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., hardware engineering, manufacturing, and more) to ensure products exceed stakeholder expectations

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 4+ years of combined experience in embedded and full-stack software development
- Proficiency with C and/or C++ for embedded development, including baremetal and RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar) programming on microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M)
- Experience developing embedded Linux userspace applications using languages such as Python or C++
- Proficiency with web-native languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS) and modern frontend/backend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, Vue; Node.js, Express, Flask, FastAPI, Django)
- Experience with AI-based coding tools like Claude Code
- Experience with SQL (specifically PostgreSQL) and time series (specifically InfluxDB) database management, including writing/optimizing queries and building visualizations with tools such as Grafana
- Experience with Docker

- Experience with hardware debugging tools and techniques (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes)
- Familiarity with embedded communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, and UART
- Familiarity with internet communication protocols such as HTTP, WebSockets, and MQTT
- Experience with Git and version control workflows
- Familiarity with Linux and Bash

Bonus Requirements:

- Experience with the full IoT telemetry system software stack
- Exposure to the NXP S32K MCU family
- Knowledge of the SAE J1939 protocol or other vehicle communication standards
- Experience developing safety-critical software or familiarity with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or ISO 13849-1
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, including for embedded targets
- Experience managing on-premises and cloud server infrastructure (e.g., on-premises Linux servers; cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Microsoft Azure), including using orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Knowledge of computer networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals

Benefits:

- Competitive salary and performance bonuses
- Opportunity to work across the entire software technology stack
- Cooperative and supportive work environment with a diverse engineering team
- Upscale open-concept office and kitchen
- Frequent team building activities
- Conveniently located across the street from the Bronte GO Station

If you are a versatile software engineer who enjoys working across the full stack — from firmware running on embedded hardware to the web applications and infrastructure that connect it to the world — we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity! Please submit your resume for consideration. Pay: $75,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
