Kensei bar is a Japanese - inspired cocktail bar serving creative cocktails and Japanese bar snacks. Located on Dundas and Ossington area.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. As a key leadership figure in the kitchen, you will play an essential role in ensuring exceptional food quality, maintaining high standards of food safety, and inspiring our culinary staff. Your energetic approach and passion for food will help create memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen activities, ensuring smooth and effective operations
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, maintaining consistency and high quality standards
- Manage food handling procedures to ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate food service during busy hours, supporting bartenders and servers as needed
- Train team members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and customer service standards
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies,



and minimize waste through effective stock management

Requirements

- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food industry best practices
- Extensive food service experience with a focus on restaurant management and team leadership
- Knowledge of food safety standards, handling procedures, and sanitation regulations
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Experience in kitchen operations, including food handling, bartending, and serving roles preferred
- Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences through exceptional culinary craftsmanship
