Role Description The Sprinkler Fitter will install, assemble, and test fire sprinkler systems and related piping in accordance with drawings, specifications, codes, and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans, measuring and cutting pipe, using appropriate hand tools, and ensuring proper layout and alignment of sprinkler systems. The role involves coordinating with site supervisors and other trades, performing inspections, troubleshooting issues,



and supporting maintenance or modifications to existing systems.

The Sprinkler

Fitter will adhere to all life safety, health, and safety regulations, maintain accurate documentation of work performed, and represent Vipond with professional conduct on job sites. This is a full-time, in office role based in the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated knowledge of sprinkler systems and fire protection principles, including installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Ability to work safely and effectively with hand tools and related equipment used in pipe fitting and sprinkler installation.
- Experience working with sprinkler components and pipe (cutting, threading, joining, and supporting) in commercial or industrial environments.
- Understanding of life safety codes, building codes, and applicable standards for fire suppression systems.
- Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship as a Sprinkler Fitter or Pipefitter, or progress toward such credentials.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to workplace safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, and to work collaboratively with project teams.
- Physical ability to perform trade work, including lifting, working at heights, and operating in various site conditions.
