Aequitas Veritas Qualified Corporation is a Calgary-based CPA firm serving small business owners, sole proprietors, and corporations across a range of industries. We provide compilation engagements, bookkeeping, corporate and personal tax, GST, advisory, and controller services. We run a cloud-based practice built for remote work.

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team in a fully virtual role with a 4-day work week.

What you will do

- Work directly with clients
- Prepare year-end financial statements and compilation engagement files
- Assist in preparing monthly management reports
- Prepare and file GST returns
- Prepare personal income tax returns
- Assist with the month-end closing process for client files

What we are looking for

- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian accounting principles
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills




- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client deadlines
- Self-motivated and organized, with the discipline to work independently in a remote environment

Bonus qualifications

- Currently pursuing the CPA designation or preparing to write the CFE
- Prior Canadian tax knowledge (personal and/or corporate)
- Experience preparing compilation engagements
- Experience with Xero, Hubdoc, Xero Working Papers, or TaxCycle

Demonstrated ability to use AI tools responsibly in an accounting workflow, including verifying outputs and protecting client confidentiality
