Looking for meaningful healthcare experience while completing university?
We are looking for a motivated university student to join our team and work alongside a Registered Occupational Therapist providing support with in-home client assessments, rehabilitation equipment and administrative activities.
This is an excellent chance for a 3rd- or 4th-year student studying Medical Sciences, Kinesiology, Health Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences or another healthcare-related program.
The position is casual and flexible around your university schedule, with a combination of remote work and occasional in-home visits in London and surrounding areas.
Arabic-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Why This Position?
If you're considering a future career in medicine, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing, rehabilitation or another healthcare profession, this position will give you exposure to the practical side of patient care and community-based rehabilitation.
You will work directly with an experienced Registered Occupational Therapist and gain experience with:
- In-home client assessments
- Functional abilities and daily activities
- Home accessibility and safety
- Mobility and adaptive equipment
- Rehabilitation products
- Assistive technology
- Client and family communication
- Healthcare documentation
- Equipment ordering and coordination
- Working within a professional healthcare environment
Your Role Depending on your experience and training, you will assist the OT with:
- Attending occasional in-home assessments
- Helping gather information during client visits
- Researching appropriate rehabilitation and accessibility products
- Contacting suppliers and obtaining product information and quotations
- Assisting with equipment orders and follow-up
- Preparing and organizing documents
- Entering and organizing information electronically
- Scheduling and coordinating appointments
- Completing research and administrative tasks remotely
- Communicating with clients, families and suppliers as directed
- Providing general support to the OT
You will receive guidance and supervision from the Registered Occupational Therapist. Who We Would Like to Meet

- Studying Medical Sciences, Kinesiology, Health Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Psychology, Nursing or a related program
- Interested in a future healthcare career
- Friendly, professional and comfortable speaking with clients
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Able to work independently when completing remote assignments
- Reliable and responsible
- Interested in learning about rehabilitation and patient care
Arabic-speaking applicants are especially encouraged to apply. Previous healthcare experience is an asset but not essential. We are happy to train the right student.
We understand the demands of university.
This is a casual position with flexible scheduling. Set hours of availability are required.
The position includes
Remote work
Research, documentation, equipment coordination, scheduling and other administrative tasks can be completed remotely.
In-person work
Occasional assistance with in-home assessments in London and surrounding communities.
This makes the position particularly suitable for a student who wants to build healthcare experience without committing to a traditional fixed work schedule.
What You Bring
Required:
- Current university enrollment
- Strong communication skills
- Professional and dependable approach
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Valid driver's licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle for occasional local home visits
Strong assets:
- Arabic language skills
- Healthcare or rehabilitation experience
- Customer service experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
- Interest in medical equipment and assistive technology
A Great Opportunity for Your Future This position can be especially valuable for students preparing for professional healthcare programs or graduate studies.
Rather than spending your part-time hours in a completely unrelated job, you'll have the opportunity to develop practical experience in a healthcare setting, interact with clients and families, and learn how rehabilitation services are delivered in the community.
