Our Client:

A world-class precious metals producer advancing a high-grade Au project that has attracted significant attention across the industry. Underground development is well underway, major milestones are being achieved, and the operation is steadily transitioning from project mode toward future production. For the right leader, this is an opportunity to help shape a mine that could be producing for decades.

This role sits at the centre of that journey. You'll own underground execution, spend your time where the work is happening, and play a key role in building the people, systems, and operating culture that will define the mine's future success.

What You'll Do:

- Own underground mining and development execution, balancing safety, development rates, costs, equipment availability, and workforce performance.

- Lead supervisors, contractors, and technical teams while maintaining a strong underground presence where the work is happening.

- Partner with Engineering, Geology, and Operations to turn mine plans into results and remove barriers to execution.

- Coordinate development, ventilation, dewatering, ground support, and underground infrastructure activities.

- Drive improvements in safety, productivity, equipment utilization, and development performance through disciplined execution and performance management.

- Help build the people, systems, and operating culture required as the project advances toward production.

What You'll Bring:

- Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering, Mine Technology, or a related discipline; P.Eng. considered an asset.

- 10+ years of underground mining experience with increasing operational leadership responsibility.

- Proven success leading underground development and production teams in mechanized mining environments.

- Strong technical understanding of drill-and-blast development, long-hole stoping, ventilation, ground control, and mine infrastructure.

- Experience managing contractors, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering against safety, production, and cost targets.

- A hands-on leadership style, strong underground credibility, and a track record of building accountable, high-performing teams.

What's In It for You:

- Help shape a growing gold operation at a pivotal stage of development.

- Influence how the mine evolves from active development into long-term production.

- Lead from the field, not from behind a desk.

- Build teams, systems, and operating practices that will leave a lasting mark on the operation.

- Work alongside experienced technical and operational leaders in a team-oriented, safety-driven environment.

- Take on a rare opportunity to help build a future mine rather than inherit an established one.

The Plutonic Take:

This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage a mine from a boardroom. It's for a leader who likes being underground, solving problems in real time, developing people, and driving results where it matters. You'll be joining at a stage where the operation is still being shaped, not simply maintained. If you've successfully led underground development teams and want the chance to help build a future mine from the ground up, opportunities like this are few and far between.
