Buyer – Duties and Responsibilities The Buyer is a key link in the company’s procurement and commercial operations. Reviewing purchase requisitions in accordance with established procedures. Analyzing supplier proposals and negotiating prices and delivery schedules.

Issuing purchase orders and obtaining drawings and manufacturing specifications when required. Resolving potential commercial and financial disputes. Negotiating purchasing conditions, including quality, price, and delivery.

Continuously monitoring the market, including changes in demand and product characteristics. Developing monthly, quarterly, or annual purchasing plans. Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a College Diploma (DEC) in a related field, with a minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Buyer, ideally in a technical workplace.

Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written. Customer service or account management experience is a major asset. Knowledge of an MRP/ERP system is an asset.
