Technical Business Systems Analyst

Toronto, Canada Remote

Work Arrangement: Remote with occasional onsite/office requirements

Job Overview

We are seeking a Technical Business Systems Analyst who can effectively bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced enterprise environments.

You will play a key role in identifying opportunities for improvement, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Apply strong business acumen to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and add value in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
- Act as a change agent , driving continuous improvement and adapting approaches to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Bridge business and technology teams by translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights and user-focused solutions.
- Clearly communicate technical considerations, including effort, cost, system impact, and risks , using benchmarks and data to support recommendations.
- Build robust relationships and foster collaboration across business teams, technology teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.




- Contribute to product direction and help align cross-functional teams around a shared vision.

Required Qualifications

- 5–8 years of experience in Business Systems Analysis, Technical Business Analysis, Technical Consulting, Solution Delivery, or a related role.
- Experience working in enterprise environments .
- Bachelor's degree or higher in:
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
- Engineering
- Business
- or a related field.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Technical & Business Analysis Experience Hands-on experience with:

- ETL pipelines and data integration
- RESTful APIs
- OAuth / OAuth tokens
- Postman for API testing and integration
- Data modeling
- Data lineage
- Data quality frameworks
- Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Enterprise integration patterns and system integrations

Data & System Documentation Ability to define, document, and communicate:

- End-to-end data journeys
- System workflows and dependencies
- Non-happy path scenarios
- Sequence diagrams
- Workflow/process diagrams
- High-level architecture overviews

Experience with tools such as:
- Microsoft Visio
- Draw.io
- Lucidchart

Requirements, Testing & Agile Delivery

- Collaborate closely with development teams to translate business requirements into:
- Technical specifications
- Functional/technical requirements




- User stories
- Support solution validation through:
- UAT
- Test case design
- Defect identification and triage
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation and knowledge-management artifacts for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work within Agile/Scrum delivery environments , including:
- Backlog grooming
- Sprint planning
- Prioritization
- Collaboration with Product Owners and Scrum Masters

Technical & Domain Assets The following experience is highly desirable:

Data & Reporting

- Strong SQL skills
- Power BI
- Data visualization and reporting tools

Enterprise Applications Exposure to enterprise platforms such as:

Domain Knowledge

Experience or understanding of

- Supply Chain
- Procurement
- Finance Operations

is considered a strong asset.

Preferred Qualifications

- CBAP
- PMI-PBA
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Previous experience with:
- Backend development
- Automation
- RPA

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a technically strong Business Systems Analyst who can comfortably operate between business stakeholders and technical teams. They should be able to understand APIs, ETL, SQL, cloud platforms, data flows, and integrations , while also possessing strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, UAT, Agile delivery, stakeholder management, and communication . Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential for this role.
