Help Us Build Something Bigger
Are you a self-starter who enjoys meeting customers, understanding how things work, and turning opportunities into sales? Do you want to help grow a business rather than simply maintain an existing account list?
Carbide Tool Works is looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial Technical Sales Representative to help drive our next stage of growth. Your primary focus will be expanding sales of our industrial cutting tools. You will also represent Wolf Hitch, our affiliated trailer hitch manufacturing business, developing opportunities with fleets, trailer manufacturers, and dealers.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who wants the responsibility, independence, and growth potential of a start-up environment—with the engineering and manufacturing resources of an established group behind them.
About Our Businesses
Carbide Tool Works manufactures and sells a complete line of industrial cutting tools to customers across North America. We are focused on growing our customer base, building strong distribution relationships, and helping customers find the right cutting-tool solutions for their applications.

Wolf Hitch manufactures a patented Roll-Coupler Hitch designed to improve truck-and-trailer stability and hauling efficiency in heavy-haul applications. With more than 200 units in operation and customers in forestry, oil and gas, and aggregates, the next opportunity is to expand adoption through direct sales, trailer manufacturers, and dealer partnerships.

Both businesses are part of the Williams & White Group of Companies, backed by more than 70 years of experience in industrial technology and advanced manufacturing.
We have products, manufacturing capability, and room to grow. We are looking for someone who wants to help turn that potential into sales.
The Role
You will take ownership of developing business across BC, Alberta, and the Western United States. This means finding opportunities, getting in front of customers, understanding their needs, preparing proposals, following up,
and closing sales.
For Carbide Tool Works, you will build lasting customer relationships and repeat cutting-tool business. For Wolf Hitch, you will develop opportunities with heavy-haul operators, trailer manufacturers, and equipment dealers, managing a more technical, longer sales cycle.
You will work closely with our leadership and manufacturing teams, with the opportunity to influence our sales approach, identify new markets, and take on greater responsibility as the businesses grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Win new business. Identify prospects, make introductions, arrange customer visits, and convert opportunities into sales. Build your own pipeline rather than relying solely on incoming inquiries.
- Grow Carbide Tool Works accounts. Develop relationships with industrial cutting-tool users, dealers, and distributors. Understand customer applications, recommend suitable products, and build repeat business through responsive service and consistent follow-up.
- Expand Wolf Hitch sales. Connect with fleet operators, owner-operators, trailer manufacturers, and dealers. Develop direct sales opportunities and partnerships for factory-installed and aftermarket applications.
- Sell technical value. Explain product features and practical benefits in terms customers understand, including performance, productivity, tool life, and operating costs. Work with our technical team to confirm application suitability and answer detailed questions.
- Own the sales process. Prepare quotations, negotiate within agreed parameters, follow up on proposals, close orders, and coordinate with production to keep customers informed.
- Manage your territory. Plan productive sales trips and attend relevant trade shows and industry events, with travel expected approximately one week per month.
- Help shape our growth. Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts, share customer and competitor feedback, and identify opportunities for new products, partnerships, and markets.
Who We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is motivated by building a business—not just holding a sales position.
- A proactive,
independent approach. You take initiative, organize your own time, and follow through without needing constant direction.
- Sales ability and commercial drive. You are comfortable prospecting, starting conversations, asking for the business, and staying engaged through the sales cycle.
- Technical curiosity and mechanical aptitude. You enjoy learning how products work , working with your hands and understanding the customer’s application. You do not need to be an expert in both product lines, but you must be willing to learn.
- Strong communication and relationship skills. You are comfortable speaking with business owners, purchasing teams, fleet managers, shop foremen, and equipment operators.
- Organization and accountability. You keep quotations, follow-ups, customer information, and opportunities current using a CRM and everyday business software.
- Ability to cover the territory. You hold a valid driver’s licence and can travel within Canada and to the United States.
Experience in technical sales, industrial cutting tools, machining, manufacturing, industrial distribution, trailers, or heavy equipment would be a strong asset. Existing customer or dealer relationships in our target markets would also be valuable. Drive, initiative, and the ability to earn a customer’s trust matter as much as your résumé.
What We Offer A $60,000 CAD base salary plus a performance-driven commission structure, with a company vehicle or travel allowance provided.
Beyond compensation, this is an opportunity to work directly with decision-makers, contribute ideas, and see the impact of your work. You will have the independence to develop your territory and the opportunity to grow your responsibilities as you help grow the businesses.
