Structural Designer – Protective Packaging Etobicoke, ON | Permanent, Direct Hire | Fully On-site Salary: $80,000–$82,000 annually Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Do you enjoy solving practical packaging challenges—finding the right structure, materials and fit to keep products protected? We’re hiring a Structural Designer for an established, family-run packaging manufacturer.

This position focuses primarily on protective packaging, including corrugated structures, foam, partitions and internal components that secure products during handling and shipping.

You’ll take projects from initial requirements through structural design, prototyping and production, balancing protection, material use, assembly and manufacturing costs.

Retail display work is limited, and graphic design experience is an asset rather than a requirement.

What You’ll Do • Develop structural packaging concepts based on product dimensions, protection needs and customer requirements. • Design corrugated packaging, foam inserts, partitions and supporting components. • Create and revise designs in ArtiosCAD, including working drawings, component specifications and bills of materials. • Build and evaluate prototypes, checking product fit, assembly and practicality before production. • Select appropriate corrugated grades, flutes and foam materials for each application. • Prepare drawings for cutting dies and other tooling, along with clear assembly work instructions. • Operate the cutting table when required to produce samples and complete orders. • Coordinate with production teams and vendors on materials, samples, quotations and manufacturing requirements. • Support design reviews and initial production approvals,



maintaining accurate documentation in an ISO-certified environment.

What You Bring • At least 3 years of structural packaging design or closely related industrial experience. • Hands-on experience developing functional packaging structures, ideally including protective packaging and internal inserts. • Strong knowledge of corrugated grades and flutes, foam and packaging construction. • Proficiency in ArtiosCAD and experience preparing drawings and files for manufacturing. • Experience with cutting tables and related software, including Esko. • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and comfort working in a Mac environment. • A detail-oriented approach, clear communication and willingness to incorporate feedback and follow established workflows. • A portfolio demonstrating your structural design work. A background in industrial design, package design or design engineering is relevant.

Adobe software and graphic design experience are assets.
