Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is looking for an experienced Business Consultant to support financial governance, project coordination, resource management, operational governance, and business effectiveness . The role will focus on financial reporting, forecasting, process improvement, governance activities, and supporting senior leadership with analysis and reporting.
Contract: 4 months
Location: Toronto – Hybrid, Monday and first Friday of every month
Key Responsibilities Support project financial management , including forecasting, actuals, accruals, GL reconciliation, and variance analysis.
Prepare financial, operational, and status reporting for senior leadership.
Monitor financial and operational activities and escalate risks, issues, and action items .
Support resource management and allocation governance across multiple workstreams.
Lead and support governance activities, process documentation, and process improvements .
Analyze data from multiple systems and provide clear insights and recommendations .
Support user onboarding, training, and first-line support for resource and project management tools.
Prepare executive presentations, reports, and ad hoc analysis related to financial and operational metrics.
Manage multiple priorities, timelines,



and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Work closely with senior stakeholders and business teams to support operational efficiency and governance.
Must-Have Skills 5–10 years of experience in Business Effectiveness, Project Coordination, or similar roles.
Strong experience with project/program financials, forecasting, GL reconciliation, variance analysis, and financial reporting .
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills , with the ability to translate data into clear business insights.
Experience with process documentation, process design, and process improvement .
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills .
Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines .
Solid attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills .
Self-starter with strong ownership and leadership capabilities .
Nice to Have Experience in a banking or financial services environment .
Experience with Eclipse or similar resource/project financial management tools .
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Project skills.
Experience with Jira, Power BI, Alteryx, or Confluence .
Experience preparing executive-level presentations and reporting .
