Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Temporary Mill Shop Assistant to join our team in the woodworking and millwork department. This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, supporting various aspects of our manufacturing and finishing processes. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to our creative projects.

Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation and assembly of millwork components according to project specifications
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and finish wood materials
- Support the team in material handling, including heavy lifting and moving supplies around the shop
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for accurate assembly and finishing tasks
- Assist with sanding, painting, caulking, and finishing of wood products
- Support quality control by inspecting finished pieces for defects or inconsistencies

Qualifications
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and schematics
- Experience or familiarity with woodworking, carpentry, or millwork preferred
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship




- Construction experience or handyman skills are a plus
- Willingness to learn new techniques related to cabinetry installation, drywall finishing, flooring installation, tile laying, masonry, roofing, rebar installation, plumbing, electrical work, and other construction trades

Nous sommes à la recherche d'un(e) assistant(e) d'atelier d'ébénisterie (temporaire), motivé(e) et expérimenté(e), pour rejoindre notre équipe de production. Si vous possédez une connaissance pratique des machines et du travail du bois et que vous aimez évoluer dans un environnement stimulant et manuel, ce poste est pour vous.

Principales responsabilités

- Assister les ébénistes et charpentiers dans les opérations quotidiennes de l'atelier et la fabrication sur mesure.




- Utiliser en toute sécurité l'outillage et les machines standard d'atelier (scie à format/banc, scie à onglet, raboteuse, dégauchisseuse, toupie, scie à ruban).
- Préparer, couper, poncer et classer le bois et les matériaux pour les projets en cours.
- Maintenir un environnement de travail propre, ordonné et sécuritaire (gestion de la poussière, entretien des outils, etc.).
- Participer au chargement, au déchargement et au déplacement des matériaux lourds et des assemblages finis.
- Respecter rigoureusement les normes de santé et sécurité au travail (normes CNESST) ainsi que le port des équipements de protection individuelle (ÉPI).

Exigences et qualifications
- Expérience : Connaissance pratique et expérience concrète dans un atelier de travail du bois ou d'ébénisterie (1 an ou plus, un atout).
- Compétences techniques : À l'aise avec les outils électroportatifs, les outils manuels et les instruments de mesure.
- Langue : Maîtrise du français (requis) ; le bilinguisme (français/anglais) est un atout.
- Capacité physique : Capable de soulever des charges allant jusqu'à 50 lb (23 kg) et de travailler debout pendant de longues périodes.
- Aptitudes : Minutie, fiabilité, ponctualité et souci constant de la sécurité.
