Job Overview
Tubing Inspector / Trainee — Full Time
Spearhead Oilfield Services | Lloydminster
$24–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Are you dependable, technically minded, and able to stay focused when the work becomes repetitive? Do you take pride in work that others can rely on?
Spearhead Oilfield Services is hiring an experienced tubing inspector or a suitable candidate to train. We use magnetic flux leakage (MFL) technology to inspect tubing alongside service rigs. The work is physically manageable, but it requires consistent attention, sound judgment, and ownership of inspection results.
What we offer
- $24–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- A outstanding benefits plan.
- Training for the right candidate.
- Field work with daily travel up to approximately 250 km from our shop—return home every night.
- Shop work available during slower periods to supplement field hours.
- Higher earning potential during busy periods.
Understand the schedule before applying This is a full-time oilfield position with variable hours. We generally work five days per week, with on-call coverage every second weekend. Some workdays are approximately six hours; others can be twelve hours.
Hours and earnings fluctuate with customer demand. This position suits someone comfortable with changing workloads who will take available shop work during slower periods.
Reliable attendance and the ability to meet booked customer commitments are essential.
What you will do
- Monitor inspection equipment and computer displays, identifying changes that require attention.
- Maintain concentration throughout repetitive inspections.
- Follow inspection procedures and take responsibility for accurate results.
- Recognize equipment problems and troubleshoot within your training.
- Communicate assertively and professionally with service-rig crews.
- Pause the inspection and address concerns when equipment, conditions, or results require it.
- Complete required records accurately and report problems promptly.
- Contribute to shop work when field activity is slower.
Who will succeed here: You follow through on commitments, arrive ready to work, and can work independently once trained. You remain attentive even when nothing unusual has happened for hours.
You are comfortable speaking up when something is wrong, asking for help when needed, and taking responsibility for resolving problems. Personal phone use must wait until an appropriate break; active inspections require your full attention.
Previous tubing inspection experience is welcome. For trainees, dependability, attention to detail, practical problem-solving, and willingness to learn are essential.
