Job Title: Junior / Mid-Level Short-Form Video Editor (Mentorship & Agency Roster) Location: Mostly Remote (GTA local is a huge bonus) Job Type: Freelance / Contract / Part-time / Project-Based

My name is Darin (@darinjmb), and I’m a full-time content creator and editor managing high-profile channels—including Bilal Dawson, who just wrapped a daily series that pulled a combined 70 million+ views in under a month.

My schedule is completely capped, so I’m looking for a young, hungry editor to take under my wing, teach my exact pacing and hook mechanics to, and start feeding client work.

(Note: If you're already an experienced editor, that's great too—we can skip the training wheels and get straight to work).

Let’s get this out of the way: you won't be editing boring, soulless corporate talking-head videos that make you want to throw your phone in Lake Ontario. I am highly picky with who I take on. My network runs deep, and the content we make won't be trash. We focus on telling a story, highlighting real skills, showcasing dope things, and being actually funny. If you have valuable taste in content, you’re already halfway there.

How This Works (The Setup) You will act as my right hand for the edit. I handle all the client acquisition, the outreach, the business relationships, and the final delivery. You never have to hustle for clients or chase invoices. You just get the raw footage, edit it to the standard I teach you, and send it back to me. If you're already an experienced editor: We can essentially jump right into the flow of things once you're caught up to speed on my workflow. I will immediately have work for you.

The Money & Progression This is a massive opportunity to bypass the years of grinding for bad clients and jump straight into high-tier work. Because I am handing you the clients and training you in a highly specific style,

the compensation structure works like this:

- The Trial: Candidates selected for the next step will be given a brief skills assessment using raw footage. This is just to see if you naturally understand pacing and timing before we waste each other's time.
- The Probation Month: Compensation is paid at a set per-video rate during the initial 30-day training period (or until you hit my standard). During this time, I will be heavily reviewing your Premiere project files, fixing your timelines, and directly mentoring you.
- Up to Speed: Compensation increases significantly to a premium per-video rate once you can mimic my style perfectly and I don't have to hold your hand through the edit. (If you are already at my speed on day one, we start right at the premium rate).

Who You Are

- You have Wizard fingers: You are proficient in Premiere Pro, know your hotkeys, and understand basic audio cleanup and text animation.
- You know Ball: You instinctively know what makes a good hook, how to use comedic timing, and why someone swipes away.
- No cinematic color grading needed: I don't need you to be a Hollywood colorist. I need raw storytelling, visual rhythm, and fast pacing.
- You are chill but driven: You can take direct feedback, iterate fast, and you actually care about making the video look cool.

How to Apply

- Drop a link to 3 of your best short-form edits.
- Tell me about yourself, what you're up to, your interests, and throw me your resume while you're at it.
- I'll get back to you, and if I think we could work together, we'll move forward with the skills assessment.

Bonus If you're like me and like getting stuff done immediately, shoot me a DM on Instagram at @darinjmb to let me know you applied.
