Job Title: Manager, Financial Accounting

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $135 - $140K

Location: Edmonton, AB

We are working with a trusted client to find a Manager, Financial Accounting. This position oversees the monthly and annual financial close processes, maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and provides financial analysis to support business decision-making. The Manager provides leadership to the financial accounting team, develops and maintains effective financial controls, and works collaboratively with operational leaders to support the organization's financial objectives.

What You Will Be Doing:

- Lead the monthly and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

- Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules and management reports.

- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and Company accounting policies.

- Analyze financial results, identify significant variances and provide meaningful explanations to senior leadership.

- Prepare financial reports and presentations for executive leadership as required.

- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported.

- Participate in ERP enhancements, system implementations and process improvement initiatives.

- Develop standardized reporting and improve automation where appropriate.





- Ensure financial data integrity across accounting systems.

- Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship to the accounting team.

- Build robust working relationships with operational departments to support business objectives.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Support cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.

- Experienced finance leader with strong expertise in financial reporting, month-end/year-end close, reconciliations, and technical accounting.

- A strategic and analytical partner who can translate financial results into actionable insights, support budgeting and forecasting, and advise senior leadership on business decisions.

- A collaborative people leader who develops accounting teams, drives process improvements, and strengthens financial systems and controls in a dynamic environment.
