SOBO Plumbing & Heating is looking for a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Plumbing Apprentice to join our residential service team.

We are a small, locally owned Calgary plumbing company focused on quality workmanship, honest communication and excellent customer service.

This position is ideal for an apprentice who wants to build a career in residential service plumbing and develop the skills and confidence to eventually run service calls independently.

What you’ll do

You’ll work directly alongside an experienced journeyman plumber and progressively take on more responsibility as your skills develop.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with residential plumbing service calls
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing problems
- Plumbing repairs and replacements
- Water heaters and residential plumbing equipment
- Toilets, faucets, sinks, garburators and other fixtures
- Drain cleaning and troubleshooting
- Leak detection and repairs
- Installing and replacing plumbing fixtures and equipment
- Learning to assess problems and determine appropriate solutions
- Communicating professionally with homeowners
- Learning how to explain plumbing issues and repair options to customers
- Assisting with estimates and quotes
- Keeping the work area and customer’s home clean and organized
- Completing service calls properly and efficiently

Growth & Training

Our goal is to help the right apprentice become a confident, well-rounded residential service plumber.

As you gain experience, you’ll progressively move from:

Assisting → hands-on repairs → troubleshooting → customer communication → estimates → independently running service calls.

This is an opportunity to learn the diagnostic, technical and customer-service skills needed to succeed in residential service—not simply complete apprenticeship hours.

Previous residential service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.
